My name is Haddy Samba. I'm a junior at Granite Bay High School and the owner of Green Garden BodyCare. I play high school varsity and club volleyball. I first discovered natural soaps in elementary school and loved them. During the COVID lockdown, I couldn't find much selection, so I started making my own from our family kitchen using simple, organic, and all-natural ingredients we use to cook wholesome and delicious meals at home. I found my soaps were better than the natural store-bought soaps, which are still made in factories.

Since my entire family loved my soaps, I figured others would also like to have my soaps, and that's how I started Green Garden Body Care. I have since expanded to include homemade natural products such as lip balms, lip glosses, and deodorants. Many of the herbs and flowers in my products come from our garden, and the soaps are made in small batches.

I use my proceeds to help pay for my volleyball expenses since travel volleyball is expensive. My goal is to continue playing volleyball at the college level. I plan to major in communications/media studies and minor in film. I'm gaining invaluable skills in my small business, such as financial literacy, planning, organizing, time management, customer service, communication, and so much more.
